Kia America has announced U.S. pricing and key specifications for the all-new 2027 Kia Telluride, highlighting a more powerful standard turbocharged engine, larger overall dimensions, and expanded technology, while maintaining a value-focused starting MSRP of 39,190 dollars for the front-wheel-drive LX trim. Positioned as a three-row SUV with seating for up to eight, the redesigned Telluride aims to build on the success of the first-generation model that debuted for the 2020 model year.
More power and standard tech
The 2027 Telluride (ICE) introduces a standard turbocharged powertrain that delivers nearly 50 pound-feet more torque than the outgoing generation, underscoring Kia’s focus on stronger performance and improved drivability. In its base LX trim, the SUV includes Tri-Zone climate control, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and 19 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) as standard equipment.
Kia emphasizes that these features are designed to deliver strong value in a segment where buyers increasingly expect premium comfort and safety technologies at accessible prices. According to Eric Watson, vice president of sales for Kia America, the new Telluride combines more power, more room, bold new styling, and the standard turbocharged engine to elevate the nameplate’s role within the brand’s lineup.
Larger, roomier three-row cabin
Compared with its predecessor, the 2027 Telluride grows in key dimensions to enhance passenger space and usability, particularly for families. Kia reports more second-row headroom, class-leading second-row legroom within the midsize three-row SUV segment, improved access to the third row, and increased cargo space behind the third row.
These packaging changes are targeted at improving everyday comfort, road-trip practicality, and access for children or adults using the third-row seats. The configuration with up to eight seats continues to position the Telluride as a core option for buyers who need maximum passenger capacity without moving to a full-size SUV.
X-Pro: off-road-ready “halo” model
At the top of the internal-combustion lineup, the Telluride X-Pro trim is engineered as a “comfortably rugged” variant geared toward off-pavement adventures. The X-Pro receives an exclusive suspension with additional stroke, an advanced electronic limited-slip differential (E-LSD), and a ground clearance of 9.1 inches to improve capability on uneven terrain.prnewswire
The model also features wider all-terrain tires, multiple Drive Modes including Terrain Mode, and front and rear recovery points to support more demanding off-road use. A new off-road vehicle status screen and Ground View Monitor are designed to give drivers more information about vehicle position and surroundings, while Kia notes that the Ground View Monitor is not a substitute for safe driving and may not display all objects beneath the vehicle.
Trims, pricing, and hybrid timing
The all-new 2027 Telluride ICE will be offered in LX, S, EX, SX, and SX-Prestige trims, alongside the more style-oriented X-Line and the capability-focused X-Pro variants. Kia states that the published pricing excludes a 1,545-dollar destination charge, as well as taxes, title, license, options, and dealer fees, with final transaction prices set by individual dealers.
A complete breakdown of standard and available equipment will be detailed in the 2027 Kia Telluride ICE Features & Options materials, while the company plans a staggered information rollout for electrified variants. Pricing for the 2027 Telluride hybrid (HEV) will be announced closer to its market introduction, which is currently expected in late first quarter of 2026.
U.S. production and brand context
Kia will assemble the 2027 Telluride at its West Point, Georgia, manufacturing facility, continuing the brand’s strategy of producing several SUV nameplates in the United States from a mix of U.S. and globally sourced parts. The plant also builds select trims of models such as the Telluride, Sorento, Sportage, and certain all-electric vehicles, reflecting Kia’s broader investment in the American market.
The company notes that Kia America is headquartered in Irvine, California, and continues to rank highly in automotive quality surveys, while earning recognition as one of TIME’s World’s Most Sustainable Companies of 2024. As the Official Automotive Partner of the NBA and WNBA, Kia sells a range of gasoline, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicles through nearly 800 U.S. dealers, with the new Telluride expected to remain a central product in its SUV portfolio.
