General Motors is enhancing the electric vehicle ownership experience by streamlining public charging access for its customers across the United States. Drivers can now locate, start, and pay for charging sessions at more than 5,000 Electrify America fast-charging stations directly through the myChevrolet, myGMC, or myCadillac apps on their smartphones. This integration reduces friction at public chargers by turning GM’s existing brand apps into a single point of access for finding compatible stations, initiating charging, and handling billing in one place.
Access to Hyper-Fast 350-kW Charging
The collaboration includes access to Electrify America’s Hyper-Fast 350-kW DC fast chargers, which are among the fastest publicly available charging options in the U.S. These higher-powered chargers can significantly reduce charging times compared with standard DC fast-charging equipment, making it easier for EV owners to add substantial range during highway stops or longer trips. By surfacing these high-output chargers within the GM apps, the system helps drivers prioritize the quickest available charging options along their routes.
General Motors: Unified Charging Experience Across Networks
With Electrify America now built into GM’s ecosystem, customers benefit from a unified charging experience that avoids the need to juggle multiple third-party apps or accounts. From the Public Charging page within their myBrand app, owners can view supported charging networks and select compatible locations, helping them plan and execute charging sessions more confidently while traveling. This consolidated approach aims to reduce confusion at the charger, simplify payment management, and support a more seamless transition to electric vehicles for a wider range of drivers.
